Join the next trip to Honduras
February 14th – 19th, 2019
Come join us for a trip to the Sustainable Villages Honduras communities over President’s Day weekend in February 2019—leaving DC on Thursday, February 14 and returning on Tuesday, February 19.
We will fly in and out of San Pedro Sula Airport with no overnight stays in San Pedro. Our base of operations will be Trinidad, Santa Barbara, a small town within 45 minutes drive of all the SVH communities reachable by dirt road (El Zapotal is only reachable by footpath).
Mary Procter, SVH Board Chair, and her husband Bill Matuszeski, SVH Senior Advisor, have spent a week in Honduras every year except one since 2010, “because we love to meet the families in our SVH communities and experience the joy of seeing the progress they are making in improving their agriculture, forestry, health and wellbeing.” Mary and Bill are planning this trip to attract working people because it will take only three days away from work.
We will visit at least one of the eight SVH communities on each of our four full days in the mountains of Honduras. We will participate in a Vecinos Honduras work project or training program each day, and will also have time to share meals with SVH villagers and ask questions about their experience with Vecinos.
